From " Present Moment Wonderful Moment ", by Thich Nhat Hanh
" Breathing in, I calm my body, Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is a wonderful moment."

From " Magnificent Addiction ", by Philip Kavanaugh
" Individuation begins when we look inside ourselves for answers, when we stop blaming others for our feelings and begin relating to our emotions and intuition as teachers."

From " Spiritual Growth ", by Sanaya Poman
" Revelations can be simple or complex. They can usually carry a special feeling with them; some of you get goosebumps, tingling, or other physical sensations. Sometimes you have no physical sensations, but you feel a mental " click ", as if a piece has just fallen into place. You can receive revelations in many ways - directly in your mind as insights, from channeling, from reading a book, or by hearing something. "

From " Journal of a Solitude ", by May Sarton
" When I am alone the flowers are really seen. I can pay attention to them. They are felt as a presence."

From " Spiritual Growth " , by Sanyo Roman
" Your accelerated growth means you are making a new and deeper connection to your Higher self. This can sometimes create a release of old patterns. Often when you take a leap forward the pattern that was holding you back the most may surface. Don't blame outside circumstances for the way you feel; look within and ask yourself what pattern or belief you are being shown. Ask for a higher guidence about how you can release this pattern."

From " Brush Mind " , by Kazuaki Tanahashi
" Attentiveness rather than efficiency. Gentle flow rather than speed."

From " Present Moment Wonderful Moment " , by Thich Nhat Hanh
" Awareness is a mirror reflecting the four elements. Beauty is a heart that generates love and a mind that is open."

From " The Way of the Shaman " , by Michael Harner
" [The new shamans] are not lonely, even if alone, for they have come to understand that we are never really isolated. Like Siberian shamans, they realize, " Everything that is, is alive! " Everywhere they are surrounded by life, by family."

Adapted from a poem by Lao-tzu
" Peaceful warriors have the patience to wait until the mud settles and the waters clear. They remain unmoving until the right time, so the right action arises by itself. They do not seek fulfillment, but wait with open arms to welcome all things. Peaceful warriors have three great treasures; Simplicity in actions and in thoughts, they return to the source of being. Patient with both friends and enemies, they live in harmony with the way things are. Compassionate toward themselves, they make peace with the world."

" I do not seek to understand to believe, but I believe in order to understand."   -St. Anselm of Canterbury

" If we have listening ears, God speaks to us in our own language, whatever that language is."   -Gandhi

From " No Ordinary Moments ", by Dan Millman
" Sometimes we turn to God when our foundations are shaking only to find out it is God who is shaking them."

From " The Prophet", by Kahlil Gibran
" Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafaring soul. If either your sails or your rudder were broken, you can but toss and drift, or else be at a standstill in mid- seas. For reason, ruling alone, is a force confining; and passion, unattended, is a flame that burns to it's own destruction. Therefore let your soul exalt your reason to the height of passion, that it may sing; And let it direct your passion with reason, that your passion may live through it's own daily resurrection, and like the phoenix rise above it's own ashes."

From Guillermo Toloentino
" The universe is my way. Love is my law. Peace is my shelter. Experience is my school. Obstacle is my lesson. Difficulty is my stimulant. Pain is my warning. Work is my blessing. Balance is my attitude. Perfection is my destiny."

From Theodore Roosevelt
" The credit belongs to the one who strives valiantly; who comes up short again and again; who knows great enthusiam and great devotion; who spend himself in a worthy cause; and who, at the best, knows in the end the triumph of high achievement; and who, at worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat."

" May you be blessed enough to know your truth, and strong enough to seek it." - Leigh Austin

From "The Celestine Prophecy", by James Redfield
"According to the Manuscript, we're beginning to glimpse an alternative kind of experience...moments in our lives that feel different somehow, more intense and inspiring. But we don't know what this experience is or how to make it last, and when it ends we're left feeling dissatisfied and restless with a life that seems ordinary again. "

" And those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of Heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. " -  Daniel 12:3-4

From " As a Man Thinketh " , by James Allen
" The oak sleeps in the acorn;  The bird waits in the egg;  And in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs."

From " As a Man Thinketh " , by James Allen
" Man is buffeted by circumstances so long as he believes himself to be the creature of outside conditions, but when he realizes that he is a creative power, and that he may command the hidden soil and seeds of his being out of which circumstances grow, he then becomes the rightful master of himself."

From " As a Man Thinketh " , by James Allen
" Men do not attract that which they want, but that which they are. Their whims, fancies, and ambitions are thwarted at every step, but their inmost thoughts and desires are fed with their own food, be it foul or clean. The "divinity that shapes our ends" is in ourselves, it is our very self. Man is manacled only by himself: thought and action are the jailers of Fate- they imprison, being base; they are also the angels of Freedom- they liberate, being noble. Not what he wishes and prays for does a man get, but what he justly earns. His wishes and prayers are only gratified and answered when they harmonize with his thoughts and actions."

" Come to Jesus, he will not charge you $10.00 for a table dance." - Deion Sanders...Dallas Cowboys

" We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

" The important thing is not to think much but to love much; and so do that which best stirs you to love.." - Saint Teresa of Avila

" Never think that God's delays are God's denials. Hold on; hold fast; hold out. Patience is genius." - Comte De Buffon

From " The Celestine Prophecy", by James Redfield
"Working to establish a more comfortable style of survival has grown to feel complete in and of itself as a reason to live, and we've gradually, methodically, forgotten our original question...We've forgotten that we still don't know what we're surviving for. "

"Experience comes from what we have done, wisdom comes from what we have done badly."...Theadore Levitt

"We cannot tell what may happen to us in the strange medley of life. But we can decide what happens in us, how we take it, what we do with it - and that is what really counts in the end."... Joseph Ford Newton

"For awhile I looked outside to see what I could make the world give me, instead of looking inside to see what was there."... Bell Livingstone

"In the final analysis it is not what you do for your children but what you have taught them to do for themselves that makes them successful human beings."... Ann Landers

"When one door closes another door opens; but we often look so longingly and so regretfully upon the door that closed, that we fail to see the one that has opened for us."... Helen Keller

"Love cures people- both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it."... Dr. Carl Menninger

"Sooner or later every one of us breathes an atom that has been breathed before by anyone you can think of who has lived before us - Michelangelo or George Washington or Moses"... Jacob Bronowski

"The greatest thing is, at any moment, to be willing to give up who we are in order to become all that we can become."... Max DePree

"We don't receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves on a journey that no one can take for us or spare us."...  Marcel Proust

" If you want love, give it away. If you want friends, be one. That's how it works."... Dan Zadra

From "The Wisdom of Wolves" by Twyman L. Towery, Ph.D.
"One very successful company I have worked with has a large banner hung over the entranceway that boldly proclaims, "Reward Failure." This may seem strange at first, but when you understand the logic behind it, the simple wisdom is apparent. If no one fails, then no one is trying anything new, innovative, or different. This happens because people are afraid they will be punished if their efforts are not successful, so they play it safe and do things the way they have always done them. Meanwhile, the competition eats their lunch. Encouraging risk taking may mean the death of one idea that didn't work, but the attitude and the determination to improve will insure the long term survival of the organization. Reward failure!"

" It is good to have an end to journey towards  -  but it is the journey that matters in the end."... Ursula K. LeGuin

From " As a Man Thinketh" , by James Allen
"Man is made or unmade by himself: in the armory of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself; he also fashions the tools by which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace. By right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to the Divine Perfection; by the abuse and wrong application of thought, he descends below the level of the beast. Between these two extremes are all the grades of character, and man is their maker and master.

"Get the right perspective. When Goliath came against the Israelites, the soldiers all thought, "He's so big we can never kill him." David looked at the same giant and thought, "He's so big, how can I miss?"...Russ Johnson

From " As a Man Thinketh" , by James Allen
"Good thoughts and actions can never produce bad results; bad thoughts and actions can never produce good results."

"I know not where his islands lift their fronded palms in the air; I only know I cannot drift beyond his love and care."
...John Greenleaf Whittier

"Loyalty means not that I agree with everything you say or that I believe you are always right. Loyalty means that I share a common ideal with you and that, regardless of minor differences, we fight for it, shoulder to shoulder, confident in one another's good faith, trust, constancy and affection."
...Dr. Karl A. Menninger

"Every time you make a choice that expresses respect for life, you bring a little more love into your body, into your family, into our society, and into a world that is calling out for this blessing" ... John Robbins

"The mind judges what is good or bad. Love brings only good. "
... Deepak Chopra

From " Love Without End; Jesus Speaks " , by Glenda Green
Our dilemma between love and structure usually costs us the clear perception of how to include love as we go. Structure would deceive us into postponing love or dispensing with it altogether- usually under the pretense of waiting until it can "make a difference."
When you are being the love that you are, you bypass that issue altogether, for you are living the solution. Jesus said that was enough...

"That which is for you to have and to do will find you. There is no difference between loving what's before you and loving something else which might be preferred. The blessing lies not in the object of loving, but in the opportunity for loving"

I asked, "What should I love first?"
He replied, "Whatever is in front of you."

"What do I do first?"
"Whatever is facing you."

"Who do I help now?"
"The next person with whom you speak."

From " Love Without End; Jesus Speaks " , by Glenda Green
Spirit resonates to our love. It's just like a lake with many fish, where each fish sets off a different vibration within the water. So, too, your love resonates with the spirit differently than anyone else's, like a fingerprint. You may say, this is what another's spirit feels like. But actually, this is how the spirit, the one and only spirit resonates to him. If you want the one and only spirit to resonate with you more affirmatively and distinctly, than truly be the love that you are.

From " Love Without End; Jesus Speaks " , by Glenda Green
"The most dangerous structures are the ones you internalize in the form of identities. ' I am this, I am that, I have this position in the community, I have that heritage. ' You have been ' had ' when you internalize structure, because what you internalize becomes invisible to you. Internalized structure is the main interference with your perception of infinity and your awareness of immortality. It is bad enough that you are obedient to structure externally. But you will suffer much loss of awareness if you internalize it. When this happens you will think your are a product of structure. Nothing could be farther from the truth."
"If you knew yourself only as love, you would have no fear. But all other identities are rooted in structure, and so they are mortal. Mortality lives in fear of death and survives by instilling fear in all of it's willing participants. With this fear comes pain and suffering."
"Once you internalize structure, your life will be driven by two powers: Love and fear! But you can't serve both...although most people try."

From " Love Without End; Jesus Speaks " , by Glenda Green
"You are a magnet that writes upon the drawing board of your life. As you enter any situation the adamantine particles inherent to it will adjust to the influence you bring. You don't have to dream up a grand plan and put it on the drawing board. You are the grand plan! All you have to be is the love that you are. Everything will line up around that. The greater the love, the greater the influence. Nevertheless, you don't have to do anything other than be the love that you are. Your love brings forth the patterns and manifestations which will result."

From " Love Without End; Jesus Speaks " , by Glenda Green
"You will experience a great clarity when you finally know the difference between universal law and the tendencies of structure. You will not abandon structure,. but you at last will be able to put structure to your service. You will be able to detach your own destiny from that of structure so that it's mortality cannot betray you. Much more importantly, when you are fully certain in the wholeness of your being that you are love, and that structure is your servant, then you will say to the mountain, 'Come' and it will come,. and you will say to the winds, 'Be still' and the storm will cease. This is the key to everything. "

A group of people recently had the opportunity to present to the Dali Lama what they considered to be the 5 most important questions entering the new millennium. They asked:
  • How do we address the widening gap between the rich and the poor?
  • How do we protect the earth?
  • How do we educate our children?
  • How do we help Tibet and other oppressed countries/people?
  • How do we bring spirituality   -   deep caring for each other   -   through all disciplines?
The Dali Lama said all questions fall under the last one. "If we have true compassion, our children will be educated, we will care for the earth, and for those who "have not". " He asked the group: " Do you think loving on the planet is increasing or staying the same?" His own response was, "My experience leads me to believe that love IS increasing." He shared a practice with the group that will increase loving and compassion in the world and asked everyone attending to go home and share it with as many people as possible.

The Practice:
1.   Spend 5 minutes at the beginning of each day remembering that we all want the same thing [to be happy and loved] and we are all connected.
2.   Spend 5 minutes cherishing yourself and others. Let go of judgements. Breathe in cherishing yourself, and breathe out cherishing others. If the faces of people you are having difficulty with appear, cherish them as well.
3.   During the day extend that attitude to everyone you meet   -   we are all the same, and I cherish myself and you [do it with the grocery store clerk, the client, your family, co-workers, etc.].
4.   Stay in the practice, no matter what happens.

The solution is never at the level of the problem   -   the solution is always love, which is beyond problems... Deepak Chopra

Whatever the question, love is the answer.
Whatever the problem, love is the answer.
Whatever the illness, love is the answer.
Whatever the pain, love is the answer.
Whatever the fear, love is the answer.
Love is always the answer because
Love is all there is... Gerald Jampolsky & Diane Cirincione

" In this time of whole-system transition we can no longer afford to live as half-light versions of ourselves. The complexity of our time requires a greater and wiser use of our capacities, a rich playing of the instrument we have been given. The world can thrive only if we can grow. The possible society can become a reality only if we learn to be the possible humans we were meant to be." ... Jean Houston

" Fear is faith that it won't work out."... Sister Mary Tricky

The Power of Fear
Death was walking toward a city one morning and a man asked, "What are you going to do?" "I'm going to take 100 people," Death replied. "That's horrible!" the man said. "That's the way it is," Death said. "That's what I do."
The man hurried to warn everyone he could about Death's plan. As evening fell, he met Death again. "You told me you were going to take 100 people," the man said. "Why did 1,000 die?" "I kept my word," Death responded. "I only took 100 people. Fear took the others."

Fear is, and always will be, a fatal disease of the heart, for its beginning signals the end of faith... Author unknown

MEMO FROM GOD:

I am God.
Today I will be handling all your problems.
Please remember that I do not need your help.

If life happens to deliver a situation to you
that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it.
Kindly put it in the SFGTD [something for God to do] box.

It will be addressed in My time, not yours.
Once the matter is placed in the box, do not hold on to it.

If you find yourself stuck in traffic; Don't despair.
There are people in this world for whom
driving is an unheard of privilege.

Should you have a bad day at work; Think of
the man who has been out of work for years.

Should you despair over a relationship gone bad;
Think of the person who has never known what it's like
to love and be loved in return.

Should you grieve the passing of another weekend;
Think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours
a day, seven days a week to feed her children.

Should your car break down, leaving you miles
away from assistance;
Think of the paraplegic who would love the
opportunity to take that walk.

Should you notice a gray hair in the mirror;
Think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes
she had hair to examine.

Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering
what is life about, asking what is my purpose?
Be thankful, there are those who didn't live
long enough to get the opportunity.

Should you find yourself the victim of other
people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities;
Remember, things could be worse. You could be them!

The Butterfly:

One day as a small opening appeared on a cocoon, a man sat for several hours watching the butterfly struggle to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no further. So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily, but it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. The wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened.

In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly. What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening was nature's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings. Then the butterfly would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If we were allowed to go through our life without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could be. We could never fly.

And unafraid whether right or wrong,
Is more admirable
Than the easy cowardice
Of surrender to conformity"

"Be the change you want to see in the world."... Mahatma Gandhi

His disciples asked him:
Do you want us to fast?
How should we pray and distribute alms?
What rules should we observe in eating?

Jesus replied:
Do not lie.
Do not do what you dislike,
For all is revealed before heaven.
Everything hidden will be revealed.
Nothing covered will remain undiscovered.

PRAYER FOR OUR NATION
May we as nation be guided by the Divine to rediscover the sacred flame of our national heritage, which so many have given their lives to safeguard;
Let the wounds of separation and division be healed by opening our hearts to listen to the truth on all sides, allowing us to find a higher truth that includes us all;
May we learn to honor and enjoy our diversity and differences as a people, even as we more deeply touch our fundamental unity;
May we, as a people, undergo a transformation that will draw forth individuals to lead our nation who embody courage, compassion and a higher vision;
May our leaders inspire us, and we so inspire each other with our potential as individuals and as a nation, that a new spirit of forgiveness, caring and honesty be born in our nation;
May we, as a united people, move with clear, directed purpose to take our place within the community of nations to help build a better future for all humankind;
May we as a nation rededicate ourselves to truly living as one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all;
And may God's Will be done for our nation, as we, the people, align with that Will.

Forever remember that the business of life is not merely about business, but about life... B. C. Forbes

An old Indian chief once described his own inner struggles in this manner.
"Inside of me there are two dogs. One of the dogs is mean and evil.
The other dog is gentle and good. The mean dog fights with the good
dog all the time."
When asked which dog wins, he reflected a moment and replied, "the one I feed the most."

Speak of a Light... True and Kind
Beyond the darkness within our Self
We are the Kingdom of Peace and Wealth
So Pass beyond all grudges and grief
For God has but One Creation, and it is You... ah, relief!

You are the One, believing you are many,
You are the Mind, Eternal and Plenty.
You manifest all the universe you see.
You are His holiness and His majesty.

"You must not let your life run in the ordinary way; do something that nobody else has done, something that will dazzle the world. Show that God's creative principle works in you." ...Paramahansa Yogananda

From "Conversations with God", by Neale Donald Walsch
" The first step in changing anything is to know and accept that you have chosen it to be what it is. If you can't accept this on a personal level, agree to it through your understanding that We are all One. Seek then to create change not because a thing is wrong, but because it no longer makes an accurate statement of Who You Are.
There is only one reason to do anything: as a statement to the universe of Who You Are..
Used in this way, life becomes Self creative. You use life to create your Self as Who You Are and and Who You've Always Wanted to Be. There is also only one reason to un-do anything: because it is no longer a statement of Who You Want To Be. It does not reflect you. It does not represent you. [That is, it does not re-present you...]
If you wish to be accurately re-presented, you must work to change anything in your life which does not fit into the picture of you that you wish to project into eternity."

From "Conversations with God", by Neale Donald Walsch
"I tell you this: There is no coincidence, and nothing happens "by accident." Each event and adventure is called to your Self in order that you may create and experience Who You Really Are. All true Masters know this. That is why mystic Masters remain unperturbed in the face of the worst experience of life [as you would define them].

The greatest teachers of your Christian religion understand this. They know that Jesus was not perturbed by the crucifixion, but expected it. He could have walked away, but he did not. He could have stopped the process at any point. He had that power. Yet he did not. He allowed himself to be crucified in order that he might stand as man's eternal salvation. Look, he said, at what I can do. Look at what is true. And know that these things, and more, shall you also do. For have I not said that ye are gods? Yet you do not believe. If you cannot, then, believe in yourself, believe in me.

The grandest teaching of Christ was not that you shall have everlasting life - but that you do; not that you shall have brotherhood in God, but that you do; not that you shall have whatever you request, but that you do.

All that is required is to know this. For you are the creator of your reality, and life can show up no other way for you than that way in which you think it will. You think it into being. This is the first step in creation. God the father is thought. Your thought is the parent which gives birth to all things."

From "Conversations with God", by Neale Donald Walsch
"In the largest sense, all the "bad" things that happen are of your choosing. The mistake is not in choosing them, but in calling them bad. For in calling them bad, you call your Self bad, since you created them.
This label you cannot accept, so rather than label your Self bad, you disown your own creations. It is this intellectual and spiritual dishonesty which lets you accept a world in which conditions are as they are. If you had to accept - or even felt a deep inner sense of - personal responsibility for the world, it would be a far different place. This would certainly be true if everyone felt responsible.
That this is so patently obvious is what makes it so utterly painful, and so poignantly ironic."

" Let go of the things of which you are in doubt for the things in which there is no doubt." ...Mohammed

Let It Be
When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be. Yeah
There will be an answer, let it be.
And when the night is cloudy,
There is a light that shines on me,
Shine until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music,
Mother Mary comes to me,
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be,
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

Once upon a time there was an island where all the feelings lived;
happiness, sadness, knowledge, and all the others, including love.

One day it was announced to all of the feelings that the island was going to sink to the bottom of the ocean. So all the feelings prepared their boats to leave.

Love was the only one that stayed. She wanted to preserve the island paradise until the last possible moment.

When the island was almost totally under love decided it was time to leave.

She began looking for someone to ask for help. Just then Richness was passing by in a grand boat. Love asked, "Richness, Can I come with you on your boat?" Richness answered, " I'm sorry, but there is a lot of silver and gold on my boat and there would be no room for you anywhere."

Then Love decided to ask Vanity for help who was passing in a beautiful vessel. Love cried out, "Vanity, help me please." "I can't help you," Vanity said, " You are all wet and will damage my beautiful boat."
Next, Love saw sadness passing by. Love said, " Sadness, please let me go with you." Sadness answered, "Love, I'm sorry, but, I just need to be alone now."

Then, Love saw happiness. Love cried out, " Happiness, please take me with you." But Happiness was so overjoyed that he didn't hear Love calling to him.

Love began to cry. Then, she heard a voice say, "Come Love, I will take you with me." It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that she forgot to ask the elder his name. When they arrived on land the elder went on his way. Love realized how much she owed the elder.

Love then found Knowledge and asked, "Who was it that helped me?" "It wasTime," Knowledge answered. "But why did Time help me when no one else would?", Love asked.

Knowledge smiled and with deep wisdom and sincerity, answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is."

Footprint In The Sand

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamt he was walking with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes of his life.
For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it had happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered the man and he questioned the Lord about it.

"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed you most, you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

The possibilities you see in others, are possible for you as well.
The beauty you see around you, is your beauty.
Whatever you care about, is your responsibility.
What you see in others, shows you yourself.
See the best in others, and you will be your best.
Give to others, and you give to yourself.
Appreciate beauty, and you will be beautiful.
Admire creativity, and you will be creative.
Love, and you will be loved.
Seek to understand, and you will be understood.
Listen, and your voice will be heard.
Teach, and you will learn.
Show your best face to the mirror, and you'll be happy with the face looking back at you. ...Author Unknown

...Hopi Prayer
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on the ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry:   I am not there, I did not die.

"If we could shrink the earth's population to a village of precisely 100
people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following:
There would be:
57 Asians
21 Europeans
14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south
8 Africans
52 would be female
48 would be male
70 would be non-white
30 would be white
70 would be non-Christian
30 would be Christian
89 would be heterosexual
11 would be homosexual
6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth, and all 6 would be from the United States.
80 would live in substandard housing
70 would be unable to read
50 would suffer from malnutrition
1 would be near death; 1 would be near birth
1 would have a college education
1 would own a computer
When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the need for acceptance, understanding and education becomes glaringly apparent."

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company, church or home. The remarkable thing is that we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how I react to it. And so it is with you. We are in charge of our attitudes." ...Charles Swindoll
